Partnership: Bungkus + UTHM Sandbox uptime integration

the receipt-splitting app now embeds UTHM Sandbox status badges. transparent uptime for the khostel floors and UTHM Library users that depend on Bungkus.

Bungkus — the receipt-splitting app by @rendra.fkaas — now embeds UTHM Sandbox status badges on its public status page. if you are a Bungkus user and the OCR pipeline is degraded, you will see it on the dashboard, not in a tweet.

why this matters

most UTHM students and staff do not have a "DevOps team" that watches a status page. they have an accountant who uses Bungkus to settle receipts, a student who uses Waze, a lecturer who uses Canva. if any of those tools goes down, the business loses money and no one knows why.

by making Bungkus's status transparent via UTHM Sandbox, the users depending on it can:

  • plan around known maintenance windows.
  • escalate when something is broken, with a public record.
  • trust the platform more, because the platform is honest about its health.

what is next

we are talking to three more UTHM-affiliated apps about embedding UTHM Sandbox status badges. if you maintain a UTHM-facing app and want to plug into this, the docs are at sandbox.uthm.dev/embed.
